The city’s original stone courthouse encourages local artists through its art and media galleries. Arts Court also has a stage for its resident avant-garde Le Group Dance Lab and innovative theater, music, literary and multidiscipline performances.
SAW Gallery promotes both contemporary Canadian and international artists. Local visual and media artists operate the Gallery 101. The long-established Wallack Galleries highlights contemporary and historical Canadian work. Galerie Jean-Claude-Bergeron displays local and international prints and paintings inside a Victorian house in Byward Market.
On the Sparks Street mall, Snow Goose Canadian Arts & Crafts sells Indian masks along with Inuit bone and soapstone carvings.
